Glyn T Jones Photography ready for another busy weekend in the West Midlands.

Two weddings this coming weekend to photograph in the West Midlands

Glyn T Jones Photography is now ready for this coming weekends West Midland wedding photography for two separate couples who chose us to provide their Staffordshire and West Midlands based wedding photography.

Saturday we are travelling over to Smethwick Birmingham for the church wedding of Scott and Clare . These two people make a lovely couple who chose to get married in The Old Chapel Church Smethwick before moving onto The Park Hall Hotel in Wolverhampton for the wedding breakfast and reception to party the night away with their guests.

Sunday finds us travelling over to another part of the West Midlands to provide the professional wedding photography for another lovely couple Terry and Louise. They chose to get married at the stunning Abbey Hotel Redditch where they are also holding the reception for their family and friends to celebrate their love for each other, with them on their big day.

All of our professional Nikon cameras and flash guns have now been charged ready for this busy weekend, we are just hoping that the weather is going to be good to us now.

Glyn T Jones Photography would like thank Scott and Clare, and also Terry and Louise for choosing us to provide them with the West Midlands wedding photography that they deserve on their important day. We also wish them all lots of happiness on their wedding day, and of course beyond.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Barnes (Lee & Ann) on your Sutton Coldfield Wedding

Mr & Mrs Barnes wedding at The Ramada Hotel Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham West Midlands.

Glyn T Jones Photography   had a great time on Saturday photographing Lee and Ann who had chosen us to be their wedding photographer for their wedding day.

Ann had arranged, unknown to Lee, for the A Team van to pick him and the other grooms men up to bring them to the Ramada Hotel in Sutton Coldfield West Midlands for the wedding ceremony. We knew about this surprise beforehand and so were really looking forward to his arrival.

We arrived at the hotel at around 10am and found our way to the suite that Ann had stayed in the previous night, and was also using for her, and her bridesmaids preparation for the wedding. We used this opportunity to take some pre-wedding photographs of Ann enjoying having her hair, make up and nails done ready for her big day. We then headed to the reception room of the hotel that had been laid up earlier so we could photograph the table settings and the top table decorations as Ann had requested at one of our pre-wedding meetings.

It was now time for Lee to arrive, and so we waited at the front entrance to the hotel. Before long we could hear in the distance the famous A Team theme music playing very loud. Sure enough the perfect replica to the infamous A Team van arrived with spotlights glaring and the music still pumping out of the vans P.A system. The driver opened the side door and Lee and his fellow grooms men jumped out of the door in true A Team fashion. We then had some real good fun photographing Lee and his party in some very unusual and unique wedding photographs with the van.  Lee was a really good sport and needed no encouragement at all to pose in many various ways with the van.

We now returned again to Anns suite to take some more pre-wedding photographs of Ann, who was now in her wedding dress and very tearful. This also allowed us to take some lovely candid shots of the bridesmaids being laced into their beautiful blue dresses.

It was now approaching 1pm, the time for the civil wedding ceremony, so we positioned ourselves in the wedding room for the brides arrival with her father to give her away. The music started and Ann arrived at the far end of the red carpet walkway, looking absolutely stunning with her very proud father on her arm. Ann walked the red carpet to meet Lee at the altar set in front of a huge stained glass window ready for the wedding to get underway. Lee and Ann had written their own wedding vows and had the whole congregation, the registrar included, in stitches. This was a real good fun wedding ceremony!

After the wedding service we managed to avoid the downpours of rain to get outside into the beautiful hotel grounds for all the formal wedding photography to take place. Again the whole theme of these wedding photographs revolved around a relaxed and fun theme. The whole bridal party and guests were now treated to a three course wedding breakfast, so we slipped away to prepare ourselves for returning in the evening with our mobile photography studio. Ann had requested that we set the studio up in the room of the reception as she wanted studio style portrait photography of some of the newlyweds guests that couldn’t make the daytime ceremony. With all these photographs taken, it was soon time for Lee and Ann to have their first dance as a married couple, and also the traditional cutting of the wedding cake ceremony which we photographed for inclusion into the photo proof book to be chosen by the newlyweds once they return from honeymoon. As we left the party was getting into full swing with al the guests ready to dance and party into the small hours.

Busy day for albums, & a chat with a celebrity!

Well, there is only one word needed to describe the day that we at www.glyntjonesphotography.co.uk have had today, & that word is WOW!!!

The day started as any normal Monday does in the office. Then came the first phone call from Anne-marie who’s wedding we shot the photography for a while back, her & Ben had chosen the photographs that they want to be displayed in their album. This call was then quickly followed by a call from Vicky, another of our recent brides, who had also chosen the wedding photographs they want for their album & also prints for their wall & family. What happened next was very surreal, I had a phone call from a friend to say that Rufus Hound the comedian, and panelist on Celebrity Juice was looking for a photographer in the Birmingham/West Midlands area to take some portrait headshots. He had seen this tweeted on the twitter account of Rufus Hound, I got straight on Twitter & sent him a message saying that I was up for the job, this resulting in me having a chat with him about the work he wanted doing, this I have to say made my day!! Anyway then another call came through, this time from Kirsty who had, along with her husband David also chosen their prints from the proof book, needles to say this is going to be a very busy couple of weeks, not that I’m complaining, as this is just how I like it.

On another note Saturday saw us delivering the wedding album and dvd slideshows to Sharon Flood who’s wedding we photographed last Month, I always find this time a very happy and proud moment as I love to see the reaction the couples faces when they first set eyes on the album, I also find it quite a sad time as well, as having got to know the couple during the build up to their wedding, and then sharing so much of the most special day of their lives with them, delivering the album signals that we have fulfilled our contract and that contact with them is now over. This held an added sadness though with Sharon as we had worked for her before on a surprise party she held for her sister, plus she is very soon emigrating to Suriname in South America to start her new married life. We would like to wish her every happiness in her new location with Jim, and we look forward to receiving an occassional update of how they are doing.

The last two weeks have also seen us dog sitting to Staffordshire Bull Terriers while their owners were away, one visiting friends abroad, while the other is in Afghanistan as she is in the British Army. we got very attached to both dogs during their stay with us, they both have their own character & were a joy to share time with. I used the opportunity to get a quick photo of them both as a little gift for the owners, one print of this photo I shot is now hung pride of place in the owners home, while a smaller version is now winding its way across the world to cheer up the other during her time in Afghanistan. The dog picture is below, I think it came out ok considering that pet photography is not my thing, I will stick to people photos that understand what I am telling them to do, and don’t have to be bribed with food goodies.

Well I better stop chatting and go get cracking on with my work.

Bye for now

Saturdays joint 90th Birthday Party

On Saturday evening Glyn T Jones Photography were booked for event photography for what was billed as a joint 90th birthday party at The Spadesbourne Suite in Bromsgrove Worcestershire. The booking was actually a really clever play on words, as it was for a couple who both had birthdays within weeks of each other, one member of the couple was 50, while the other one was due to turn 40. I will leave it up to you to decide which was which as it is very rude to disclose a ladies age! Carol and Jan were a genuine pleasure to work with who really got into the party spirit, and boy do they know how to party!

The evening started of with a disco playing a selection of hits from across many decades, this foolproof plan really made the dance floor see some action, with most people up to dance at some stage or another. The guests were then treated to a beautiful hot buffet that would have done the royal family proud. The disco played some background music while the party sat to eat their meal, before cranking up the tempo to again fill the dance floor. This went on for a short while before the handing over the entertainment to the nights live band. The four piece band rattled off many songs covering many genres of music, this saw the floor go mad with activity yet again. This carried on well into the night, and was in fact still raging hard as we left.

www.glyntjonesphotography.co.uk shot many photographs of the action, and also photos of the couple greeting their guests on arrival, many of whom were bearing presents and gifts. The below photograph is a quick snap I captured of the two most cheeky gifts of the night, these gifts seemed to go down especially well with the members of Carol and Jans family.

Glyn T Jones Photography thank Carol & Jan for choosing us to capture their special birthdays for them, and hope looking through the photo book that we are providing will bring back many happy memories for them both for many years to come.

Best Regards

Glyn

The wedding of Sharon & Jim.

Yesterday Glyn T Jones Photography had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Sharon and Jim. This wedding was a first for us, in the way that the bride and groom set of from their house together, and travelled in the same car. We arrived at their house to capture a few pre wedding shots of the various members of the bridal party while they awaited the arrival of the Baby Bentley limo they had booked to take them all the short distance to Sandwell Registry Office in West Bromwich. Upon arrival at the venue we had time to photograph the party and guests while Sharon and Jim had their separate interviews with the registrars.

The ceremony went perfectly in this lovely venue, and was taken by a very friendly and professional registrar who allowed me to take a few photos of various points of the service, which she had discussed with us in advance. This is quite unusual as normally they specify that no photographs are to be taken during the service which sadly means many couples miss out on the keepsakes of the important things, like exchanging of rings, and the first kiss as a married couple.

After the wedding we had plenty of time in the beautiful gardens of the venue taking many photographs of the guests and the newlyweds in different locations, all while they enjoyed a glass of champagne. We then headed back to the home of the couple for the reception where a big marquee had been erected in the garden ready for the party to last well into the night.

www.glyntjonesphotography.co.uk thank Sharon and Jim for choosing us to capture the special day for them in pictures for them to forever cherish. We also would like to take this opportunity to wish the beautiful couple a very long and healthy future together.

Tomorrow is the second from last wedding of the year!

www.glyntjonesphotography.co.uk are shooting our second from last wedding of the year tomorrow, unless any last minute bookings come through. Tomorrow is the turn of the lovely Sharon and Jim to tie the knot together at Sandwell Registry Office in West Bromwich, we went along earlier in the week to check out the venue, it is a lovely venue, a nice old building with plenty of character & also stunning gardens & scenery in which to shoot the photographs after the ceremony. We are looking forward to working for Sharon again, as she has used our services previously for a surprise birthday party for her sister in Cradley Heath Cricket Club. There should be a nice relaxed atmosphere  tomorrow as we have had the pleasure of meeting most of the family at the party. We haven’t met all of the guests, as there are quite a few travelling over from various places around the world. We just hope the weather shines on us all tomorrow, however we will be packing a few umbrellas in the car just incase, I really hope they will be staying in the boot though. Glyn T Jones Photography would like to take this opportunity to wish both Sharon and Jim all the very best of luck on their wedding day, and also wish them a very long and happy future together. We thank them also for choosing www.glyntjonesphotography.co.uk to capture the memories of their special day.

All the best
